 BackgroundIn order to realize the vision of National eGovernance Plan (NeGP) in providing all government services in an integrated manner at the doorstep of the citizen at an affordable cost, Department of Information Technology, GoI has formulated the Common Services Center (CSC) scheme and planned to roll out 100,000 + CSCs across the country on a Public Private Partnership The CSCs are envisioned as the front end delivery points for Government and Private Services to the rural citizens The Common Services Center Scheme in Tamil NaduIn Tamil Nadu, 5440 CSCs are being implemented and are in various stages on Implementation. Two Service Center Agencies(SCA) have been selected by the State through a transparent bidding process to rollout the CSCs in their allotted divisions. Currently 2500 + CSCs are operational across the state. The CSC StructureThe Scheme is based on a three-tier structure 1. At the first level would be the Tamilandu e-Governance Agency, to facilitate the implementation of the Scheme within the State and to provide policy level support to the SCAs. 2. At the Second Level would be the Service Center Agency who is the key driver of the business , who would establish and operationalize the CSCs at the Village Level in their specified areas of operations 3. At the Third level would be the Village Level Entrepreneur(VLE) who would be appointed by the SCA to run the business at the village level to cater to the rural consumer within a cluster of 3 villages National Level Service Agency (NLSA)M/s Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services have been appointed a National Level Service Agency by DIT, to program manage and support the Scheme both at Central and State Level. Service Center AgenciesTwo Service Center Agencies have been selected by the State to establish and operationalize the Common Service Center across the State 1.3i Infotech Pvt Limited - 2100 CSCs 2.Srei-Sahaj e-Village Limited - 3340 CSCs The bid submitted by M/s SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd has been accepted for the North East Zone and the bid amount, zonal area and the number of CSCs are as under: "Status Report - Out of 5440 Centre 2543 Centres are Functioning as on 01-10-2010"TNeGA Training Conducted so far details under all schemes as on 08.07.2010
