About the Event

E Governance is the future of implementing governance policies in the state. It is high time the government focuses on identifying other crucial areas that are to be brought under e-Governance. The success or failure of e-Government could mean the success or failure of governance. Hence, new and bold steps are needed to create government methods, including more accurate characterization of information and the protection of privacy. E governance services have a greater responsibility in educating citizens about the benefit and utilization of the services provided by the government.

CeTIT 2010 would concentrate on the issues that were identified earlier to create an implementation process.

The following e-Governance activities and programmes have been carried out by the Government of Tamil Nadu:

  • Establishment of State Data Centers
  • Established TNSWAN (Tamil Nadu State Wide Area Network) with 708 POPs (point-of-presence)
  • Supplied hardware to all the Government Departments and agencies
  • Developed software applications for many departments
  • The State is in the process of establishing 5440 rural Common Service Centers
  • Implemented the e-District Projects
  • Currently established a State portal State Service Delivery Gateway (SSDG) and converting all forms into e-forms
  • Has drafted a policy on e-Waste, e-Security and e-Governance
  • TN is in the process of establishing m-Governance gateway for providing information to citizens

Venue, Time & Date:

The programme shall be held at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai on 27th & 28th July 2010. On 27th July 2010, it starts at 9.30 am and ends by 5.30 pm and 28th July 2010, it starts at 9.30 am and ends at 2.30 pm followed by lunch.

Registration and Nomination Fee:

This programme is a non-residential one. The programme participation would be Rs. 1500/= (Rs. Thousand Five Hundred only) per participant. This covers the cost towards programme material, working lunch/tea/coffee, etc. A discount of 10% on the participation fees is offered for nominating more than THREE participants.
Interested organizations are requested to reserve seats for their nominees by sending e-mail or fax as deemed fit followed by a letter enclosing the nomination fee so as to reach us on or before June 30, 2010. The Cheque/ DD shall be drawn in favour of FICCI, TNSC.

No Registration fees for Goverment Officials, Citizens, NGOs and Colleges.
